Functional Ceramics
Functional Ceramics Elizabeth Robinson's Large Belly Mug
by Brad Cushman Elizabeth Robinson strives to make well-formed, functional ceramics, with a sensuous surface, and relaxed posture. Her pieces take advantage of porcelain's delicacy and density using it as a ground for luminous color.

The Orphaned Teapots by Gerard Ferrari represents his response to the current interest in funky teapots forms.  His teapots are playful and inspired by the visual language of industrial machinery, mid century appliances, military devices and toys.

Judith Duff has degrees in Biology and Painting. Since 1991 she has been a full-time studio potter studying ceramics in the United States and Japan. She fires primarily with wood using her Train Kiln built in 1998 and has done extensive research into Japanese Shino clays and glazes.

Works by these ceramic artists are featured in Form Follows Function or Does It? on display in Gallery I at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock through December 10.
