Ozarks at Large: Looking at the New Immigration Enforcement Program
(2008-02-11)
(kuaf) - In a two part series we look at new immigration policy and enforcement in the area. Part One: A new immigration enforcement program went into effect this past September in Northwest Arkansas. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security initiative is designed to help federal agents round up and deport immigrant offenders. But the program is not without controversy. Part Two: We hear more from "James"--not his real name--about how and why he crossed the Mexican border illegally to come to Arkansas. © Copyright 2009, kuaf
