OZARKS AT LARGE
Do You Believe in the Ivory-billed Woodpecker?
FAYETTEVILLE, AR
(kuaf) -
The quest to document the historic Ivory-billed woodpecker has been a very hot topic among professional and amateur bird watchers.
But until a living Ivory bill is netted and banded? Proof of it's existence, says Arkansas wildlife biologist, Joe Neal, may remain perennially elusive.
Joe Neal is author of "Birds in Northwestern Arkansas: An Ecological Perspective" available at Nightbird Books in Fayetteville. He is also coauthor, with Douglas James, of "Arkansas Birds," published by the University of Arkansas press.
