Artist Reception Alma Court Youth, as part of Downtown ArtRamble. The exhibit will feature the work of two youth artists in the Court Youth Center’s Youth Artists in Residence program—Julian Hunting and Ernesto Mocada. They are December graduates of Alma d’Arte Charter High School and award winners at the 2013 Las Cruces City Senior Art Show at the Las Cruces Museum of Art. They have exhibited at the Chamizal International Museum and at Tombaugh Gallery. Both started their art career as “street/graffiti” artists and have grown to incorporate their street art into a contemporary and abstract focus. Free and open to the public.
RGT LIVE! Open Mic Are you wondering what to do after you’ve checked out all the gallery openings during the Downtown ArtRamble on the first Friday each month? Come check out RGT Live! Open Mic, the monthly event sponsored by the Doña Ana Arts Council. RGT Live! Open Mic is an opportunity for local singer songwriters to strut their stuff on the Rio Grande Theatre stage. This is the latest iteration of complimentary, family-friendly programming offered at the Rio Grande Theatre in conjunction with ArtRamble. Signup begins at 6:30pm, with the show starting at 7pm. Lineup order is determined by a random drawing and the time/songs allowed per person is dependent on the number of participants.
