The El Paso Artist Guild, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing local artists and musicians with affordable healthcare options, will host a Summer Equinox Art and Jazz Meet and Greet along with partners, El Paso Spine and Rehab Specialists, at their rehab center located at 6358 Edgemere Boulevard.
The event will feature live music by Crosstown Trio and Pancho Anguiano as well as artwork from local artists Richard Chavarria, Fran Santelli, Tim Razo, Francella Salgado and more.
In an effort to fundraise, there will be a cash bar and art auction to benefit the El Paso Artist Guild.
The El Paso Artist Guild, which started as a series of fundraising events in April of this year, is inspired by a local drummer and artist, Eric Ignacio Salas, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. In an effort to raise awareness and support for his family, the Guild began hosting local music and art shows, auctions, and events while working with local healthcare providers and insurance agencies to help find affordable care for musicians and artists who may not receive benefits through conventional professions. Though Salas passed away this past August, the Guild remains inspired and committed to working to provide local talent with rights, work, professional development and most importantly, good health and well-being.
El Paso Spine and Rehab Specialists, who provide physical therapy, sports medicine, orthopedic rehabilitation and other treatment services, are some of the first medical professionals to partner with the El Paso Artist Guild to provide free or low-cost services to guild members. Professionals from all medical fields, insurance representatives, artists, musicians and community members are invited to come learn more while enjoying local music and art.
