Effective October 5, 2013, El Paso Public Library will implement a non-resident fee for checking out books and other materials. The new policy is in response to an increased demand in service and reductions in State and Federal funding. To maintain full borrowing privileges, those who live outside the City limits will need to pay a fee of $25 for 6 months or $50 for a full year of service.
The fee will only be necessary to check out materials and to use certain online services. “Anyone, regardless of residence, will still be able to use materials inside the library free of charge,” said Dionne Mack, Director of Libraries. “They will also have free access to the computers and programs offered at all of our facilities.”
Property owners within the Clint or Fabens ISD taxing boundaries should be aware that both districts have community partnerships that offer services to the public in selected school libraries. Visit the Clint or Fabens ISD websites for information on locations, hours and services offered.
Residents of Northwest El Paso County have the option of visiting the Jenna Welch & Laura Bush Library at EPCC Northwest Campus for Library services.
