The Chris Oliver 5tet was formed in August of 2012 and is a standard jazz quintet featuring trumpet, saxophone, piano, bass and drums and is focused on music from the Hard Bop period as well as music that is written or arranged by CHris Oliver. Chris is a trumpet player who graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from U.T.E.P. After teaching in El Paso for several years, in 2010 he moved to Colorado where he studied with Brad Goode while working on his Master's Degree in Jazz Performance and Pedagogy. Chris will be joined by Pablo Berumen on saxophone; Rey Hinojosa, piano; Hector Olea, bass and Peter Zacheri on drums. |
