700 Main Demolition Completed
Crews work at removing remaining debris from the fire scene this week.
(ksut) - Demolition of three Downtown Durango businesses that burned February 22nd is complete.
The process of clearing debris from Seasons, Half Price Tees and Les Rendevous was made more difficult by asbestos found at the site.
Assistant City Manager Greg Caton says it could take up to two weeks to build a temporary wall along the 75-foot stretch of the 700 block of Main Avenue affected by the fire and reopen the sidewalk to pedestrian traffic, though one of the Northbound lanes of Main should will be reopened by tomorrow.
None of the three property owners have yet disclosed their plans, though all three have indicated they will rebuild.
