Animas Riverfront Project Delayed
(ksut) - HOST LEAD: What's been termed the largest riverfront residential development in Durango History is being put on hold.
KSUT's Victor Locke reports.

VICTOR: Citing a tenuous economy and weak real estate market, developers of the Animas Riverfront project 1111 Camino have indefinitely postponed the start of construction.
Dan Baker and Mynders Glover won approval last December for the development which was to have featured 37 residential condo's and two retail spaces, built along the river at 11th and Camino Del Rio.
They had hoped to break ground in August.
In a news release, Baker says they've had a good start on reservations, but there is enough concern about the volatility of the real estate and credit markets, that it would be prudent to wait.
The existing office building will remain intact along with businesses that are now in operation, pending a new construction startup date.
From KSUT, I'm Victor Locke.
