Longer Days at DHS Make Up for Snow Days
(ksut) - HOST LEAD: Students at Durango High School will pay the rest of the year, for two days missed earlier because of heavy snows.
KSUT's Victor Locke reports.

VICTOR: Durango schools closed January 28th and February 4th because of snow storms.
District 9R officials say that left students 560 minutes, or more than 9 hours short of the 1-thousand 56-hours minimum teacher-student contact time required under state law.
To make up, the school day for DHS students will be extended 15 minutes Monday through Thursday and 10 minutes on Friday's, starting March 31st for the rest of the year.
School will dismiss at 3:45 Monday through Thursday, 2:55 on Fridays.
The last day of the year, May 22nd, will also be expanded with one additional 75 minute period added to the day.
Elementary and Middle school schedules won't be impacted, nor will school bus schedules.
From KSUT, I'm Victor Locke.
