Round Two on San Juan Forest Meetings
(ksut) - HOST LEAD: A second round of public meetings on a draft management plan for BLM and Forest lands in Southwest Colorado gets underway with this week, with a meeting tonight at 6:30 at Silverton Town Hall.
KSUT's Victor Locke reports.

VICTOR: This second round of meetings grew out of a January 24th meeting in Durango which drew several hundred people.
Many expressed concern about how three years of work drawing up a plan to manage 2-point-4 million acres of public lands for the next 10 to 30 years, would impact their interests.
Thursday at Fort Lewis College, the public session from 6:30 to 8:30 at the FLC Ballroom will deal with Roadless Areas, Wilderness and Wild and Scenic River Recommendations.
Next Wednesday's 10-Noon meeting in Norwood will address concers over Sage Grouse, Oil and Gas leasing and Uranium mining.
Then Thursday in Cortez at the Conference Center from 6:30 to 8:30, motorized recreation as well as wildlife and livestock forage will be discussed.
Meetings are also set for early March in Pagosa Springs, South Fork and a final meeting in Durango March 10th.
