Three Durango School Super Finalists Named
(2008-01-15)
(ksut) - HOST LEAD: The search for a new Durango School Superintendent has been narrowed to three candidates.
KSUT's Victor Locke reports.

VICTOR: The three finalists come from a field of 44, screened by an executive search firm hired by the District 9R school board.
Current superintendent Mary Barter is leaving when her contract expires at the end of June.
The three finalists include one Coloradan.
David Smucker is presently assistant superintendent of the 46-hundred student Garfield Re-2 District in Rifle Colorado.
Glen Szymoniak, the second finalist, has been an assistant superintendent of the 94-hundred student Kenai Peninsula Borough School District in Homer Alaska.
The third finalist is Dr. Shalee Cunningham, from Napa, California.
She is currently an educational consultant who has held superintendent positions at three California districts in the past.
The candidates will attend separate public forums from 7 to 8:30 pm at Miller Middle School, January 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.
Board members hope to name a new superintendent sometime in February.
From KSUT, I'm Victor Locke.
