President Bush Funds Millions For Colorado Projects
(ksut) - President Bush and Congressman John Salazar have secured millions of dollars in funding for the New Year for several projects in Southwestern Colorado.
By signing the FY 2008 Omnibus Appropriation bill yesterday, President Bush approved to fully fund over $60 million dollars for the Animas-La Plata Project.
With the recent designation of La Plata County being a Health Professional Shortage Area, the bill also contains funding for the Mercy Health Foundation of Durango. The nearly $300,000 for the foundation is to be used for construction and or equipment in a primary healthcare clinic.
The bill also includes nearly $400,000 out of the $7 million needed for work on the Bayfield sewer treatment facility, roughly $250,000 for Pagosa Springs Chimney Rock Archeological Site and almost $1 million for reconstruction of US Highway 491/160.
The bill will also help facilitate Mesa Verde National Park with over $1.5 million dollars.

Other projects benefiting from the bill include; Orphir Valley, St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Arkansas Valley Conduit, Pueblo County Sheriffs Department, US Highway 150- Alamosa, US Highway 13-Northwest Colorado, Grand Junction Regional Airport- Walker Field, the City of Montrose and CASTA-Transit Agency.
