Fort Lewis College Secures Funding for Buildings
(2007-12-17)
(ksut) - HOST LEAD: Fort Lewis College closed funding for two new buildings on campus.

KSUT's Sarah Baumgartner has more.

SARAH: Funding is secured for a new residence hall and union building at Fort Lewis College. An over $55 million revenue bond issue will provide $44 million to construct and equip the new buildings
Steve Schwartz, vice president for Finance and Administration at Fort Lewis College says that the buildings will improve life at the College.
Construction of the 95,000 sq ft union building is slated to being in August of 2008 and completed in 2010.
148 students will be moving into a new suite style residence hall by the fall of 2009 with construction starting this coming spring.
A news release states that the remainder of the bond proceeds will be used to finance existing debt to lower interest rates and to standardize debt covenants, and to fund reserves and pay expenses.
