$500K In Area Projects Among Those Vetoed By Bush
(2007-11-13)
(ksut) - President Bush has vetoed a funding bill for health care and education, which includes almost half a million dollars for two LaPlata County projects.
In vetoing the Labor, Health and Education Appropriations bill Tuesday, Bush said the 606 billion-dollar bill is loaded with 2,000 earmarks that he describes as ``wasteful projects.''
The measure included 300-thousand dollars to Mercy Health Foundation to help equip the primary care facility it opened last spring, and 127-thousand dollars to the Fort Lewis College business school to open an entrepreneurship center.
