Ketchum Manager Offered Durango Job
(2007-10-23)
Ketchum, ID Manager Ron LeBlanc has been offered the job as Durango City Manager.
(ksut) - HOST LEAD: Durango City Councilors have voted to offer the job of city manager, to the current city manager of Ketchum, Idaho.
KSUT's Victor Locke reports.

DOUG LYON: IN THE END, MR. LEBLANC WON THE JOB. HE CAME INTO DURANGO FAIR AND SQUARE AND HE WON THE JOB FAIR AND SQUARE.
Emerging from a 15 minute closed door session, Mayor Doug Lyon made the motion to offer the manager's job to 53-year old Ron LeBlanc.
Minutes later, councilors voted unanimously in support of that motion.
Each councilor praised all three finalists, LeBlanc, Arvada Deputy Mayor Bill Ray and Ridgway Town Manager Greg Clifton.
However, each said they felt LeBlanc possessed experience and skills that could help Durango.
A consultant who assisted in the search, will now negotiate a contract with LeBlanc, who this afternoon was not available for comment.
Watch for more on council's decision tomorrow on Morning Edition and All Things Considered, and right here on ksut.org.
From KSUT, I'm Victor Locke.
