West Nile in La Plata County
(ksut) - HOST LEAD: La Plata County Health officials report the first confirmed human case of West Nile this year.
KSUT's Victor Locke reports.

VICTOR: San Juan Basin Health Department officials say a 52 year old unidentified Southeast La Plata County man has tested positive for West Nile Virus.
His symptoms included severe headaches, fever, chills, muscle aches and fatigue.
He is now recovering at home.
Health officials also say they've confirmed the presence of West Nile Virus in mosquito testing in Southeast La Plata County, the first positive results of the season locally.
There have been 146 confirmed West Nile Cases in Colorado so far this year, 11-new cases reported Tuesday alone.
Health officials urge everyone to take precautions against mosquitoes including use of DEET containing insect repellents.
