Colorado Senator Pushes Iraq Resolution
(2007-06-05)
(ksut) - HOST LEAD: Colorado's Democrat U.S. Senator Ken Salazar has introduced a measure he says will give America a new way forward in Iraq.
KSUT's Victor Locke reports.

VICTOR: Salazar's Iraq Study Group Recommendations Implementation Act of 2007 is a bipartisan measure, which he says is gaining momentum in the Senate.
The measure would require implementation of recommendations from the Iraq Study Group.
SALAZAR: I THINK IT'S TIME FOR THE BLAME GAME TO END HERE IN WASHINGTON D.C. NO MATTER WHAT'S HAPPENED IN THE PAST AND NO MATTER WHAT MISTAKES HAVE BEEN MADE, THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS AS WE MOVE FORWARD, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO BRING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TOGETHER TO TRY AND PUT HUMPTY DUMPTY TOGETHER AGAIN AND BRING A LASTING PEACE NOT ONLY IN IRAQ BUT ALSO IN THE MIDDLE EAST.
Salazar says Lee Hamilton and James Baker, who headed up the Iraq Study Group and its 79 recommendations, helped draft his measure.
From KSUT, I'm Victor Locke.
