Vigil for VT Students at Fort Lewis College
(2007-04-19)
(ksut) - HOST LEAD: The massacre at Virginia Tech is being felt on the campus of Fort Lewis College in Durango.
KSUT's Victor Locke Reports.

VICTOR: In a message to faculty and students, Fort Lewis President Brad Bartel says when such a rare but horrific act occurs, it shatters our idealized world.
School spokesman Mitch Davis says the killings of 32 students and faculty members at Virginia Tech had a profound effect on faculty, staff and students.
DAVIS: I DON'T THINK ANYONE COULD QUITE BELIEVE THAT WHAT THEY WERE SEEING AND HEARING WAS REAL.
Now Davis says that initial stunned affect has turned to concern.
DAVIS: WE'RE LOOKING AT OUR OWN EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PLANS, WE'RE UPDATING THEM, AND WE WANT TO GET OURSELVES READY IN CASE, HEAVEN FORBID, SOMETHING LIKE THAT SHOULD HAPPEN HERE.
A campus vigil to honor those who died at Virginia Tech is scheduled for Six Friday Evening at the Fort Lewis Chapel, organized by various student groups.
The vigil is also open to the public.
I'm Victor Locke, for KSUT.
