Durango City Councilor will not seek reelection
(ksut) - JOAN: Durango city councilor Dale Garland said Monday that after much soul searching, he's decided to focus his energies on his role as a teacher and pursue other interests.

Garland has served one 4-year term as a Durango city councilor, and has been the city's mayor during that time.

He praises the city administration and employees and said he is stepping aside with a comfortable feeling for the day to day leadership of the city.

Meanwhile, current Mayor Sidny Zink and Councilor Tom Howley have said they will run for reelection on April 3rd.

Terms for Councilors Renee Parsons and Doug Lyon don't expire until 2009.
