River Trail Artwork Selected
(ksut) - HOST LEAD: Larger than life trout will soon grace a stretch of Animas River Trail Wall in Durango.
The artwork, by a group of five local residents was selected today over two other submissions.
KSUT's Victor Locke reports.

VICTOR: The three dimensional public art piece will cover a 56 foot long, 7 foot tall cement wall owned and donated by Signature Salon, just south of the trails Main Avenue Underpass.
The Durango Art Collaboratives piece will feature three trout, 8, 12 and 16 feet long, formed from metal, tile and other media, seemingly swimming along the mosaic enhanced conrete wall.
The artwork, presently referred to as "The Trout Wall," won unanimous praise this morning from a Public Arts Commission selection committee, whose members described it as "most appropriate," "fabulous" and had "great 3D depth."
Construction of the 25-thousand dollar piece will involve the community through workshops and area student participation.
It should be completed by late June.
A sample of the wall will soon be on display at the Durango Arts Center.
