SOLI Chamber Ensemble, winner of the 2013 CMA/ASCAP Adventurous Programming Award, opens its monumental 2013-2014, 20th Anniversary Season, with a unique program entitled PAST. The program will explore SOLI’s early beginnings and the following 20-year journey that brought them to where they are today.
In a survey the Ensemble asked the audiences for their favorite works, composers, and programs from the past 20 years and this program is the culmination of their favorites. Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time, arguably the most iconic chamber work ever written in the 20th century will be the focus of the program.
Program will also include Robert Xavier Rodríguez’ Musica por un Tiempo, a SOLI commission from 2009, written as a companion piece to the Messiaen’s work, followed by the World Premiere performance of a new celebratory work entitled SOLI Collage by audience favorite, composer Paul Moravec.
Make the most of your evening and join SOLI for Pre-Concert Talks with the artists at 7:00 PM.
