The San Antonio Health Literacy Initiative, a program of The Health Collaborative, presents one of the premiere health literacy conferences in the U.S. and the only one in Texas. Top national and regional speakers will provide attendees with tools to take back to the workplace. Speakers include health literacy pioneer Barry D. Weiss, M.D., University of Arizona, author of the American Medical Associationís Health Literacy Manuel for Physicians; Cheryl Rowan, MSLS, National Network of Libraries of Medicine, South Central Region; and Darci Graves, MPP, MA, SRA International Inc.
The conference is open to health care professionals and anyone interested in health literacy. Continuing education credits will be offered for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, community health education specialists and community health workers.
