I wanted to extend a special invitation to you to join us Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 6:30PM for the next Asante Humane Medicine Medical Humanities event when we will welcome physician and author Dr. Jay Baruch. Dr. Baruch is Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Brown University Alpert School of Medicine in Providence, Rhode Island and the author of the book Fourteen Stories: Doctors, Patients and Other Strangers. In addition, he coordinates the Medical Humanities and Bioethics Concentration at the School of Medicine at Brown. Dr. Baruch will present the lecture Narrative Risks in Clinical Medicine-Why Healthcare Providers Should Think Like Creative Writers.
Jay Baruch is a wonderful speaker, writer and teacher and engages audiences with his warmth and dynamic personality. He is a humanities expert who works directly with students and patients everyday to increase communication and understanding by reconnecting us to the arts and literature.
