Barter to Leave 9-R in June DURANGO, CO (ksje) - The Superintendent of the Durango 9-R school district has announced she will be retiring at the end of the school year.
Dr. Mary Barter made the announcement Wednesday morning to the school district's 600-plus employees.
Barter has been the superintendent in Durango since 1999.
She has spent 42 years working in education.
Barter says she has offered the help the board in its efforts to find her replacement.
