Archuleta Co. Finances Improving
Archuleta County Commission Chairman Bob Moomaw says the County does not expect any more layoffs or plan any more cuts to employee benefits.
34-Archuleta County workers have been laid off and 27-vacant jobs have remained unfilled as the County tried to erase a 16-million dollar budget deficit.
Projections through December show a savings to Archuleta County of 6-million dollars because of the budget cuts
Archuleta County is also planning to sell it's property on Hot Springs Boulevard to the town of Pagosa Springs.
The County will be taking a hard look at next year's budget when they begin work on that spending plan August 15th.
