Summer Session Decisions WINDOW ROCK, AZ (ksje) - At the Navajo Nation Tribal Council summer session in Window Rock tribal lawmakers have decided a number of issues
One of them was not to give Navajo Nation president Joe Shirley the power of a line item veto.
The vote failed to get the needed majority of council members and failed 45 to 21.
Lawmakers also voted not to extend the terms in Office of council members from 4 years to 6
A plan to give each Navajo Nation chapter 2 thousand dollars from the tribes permanent fund also did not pass and an effort to call a public vote on spending from the permanent fund also failed by a large majority of delegates.
