Breaking News: Aztec's City Manager Resigns
Aztec's city manager David Velasquez submitted his resignation Tuesday night.
Velasquez says his last day at city hall will be this Friday.
He's been city manager of Aztec for about 6 and a half years.
Velasquez says he's most proud of 4 projects completed or started during his term, including the Aztec Main Avenue renovation, the new water reservoir, the Aztec arterial route and the Tiger sports complex being built with the Aztec School District.
The Aztec city commission issued a statement wishing Velazquez well in his future endeavors.
The Aztec city commission is working on approving a budget and Aztec mayor Sally Burbridge says Velasquez has helped guide the city commission through the budgeting process.
Velasquez says his immediate future plans are to do more work as a Pastor at the Master's Hand church in Bloomfield.
