A year and a half long investigation has resulted in the arrests of 23 people in the Four Corners and Mexico in connection with a major drug trafficking ring.The Southwest Drug Task force announced the arrests today and released details about the drug trafficking ring and its local impact.
16 of the suspects are from the Four Corners area.. mostly Durango and Ignacio the remaining 7 are from Mexico.
Authorities say at its height one member of the drug ring said he would collect $10,000 from the sale of methaphetamines each week and be paid $500
Investigators say since the drug arrests were made the price of methamphetamines in LaPlata county has doubled.
Authorities say the arrests are the result of cooperation between local state and federal investigators.

Durango, Colorado.
10. Joshua Milton McGowan, 30,
Durango, Colorado.
11. Gidardo Felix-Alvarez, 33,
Sinaloa, Mexico.
