College Center gets Accreditation
This is voluntary accreditation and is in addition to state licensure which is mandatory.
The Child and Family Development Center received its first accreditation in March 1991, a year after it opened on the San Juan College campus.
The purpose of the accreditation is to set professional standards and assure the quality of programs for all children.
The Center includes children from six months through kindergarten and also serves as a lab school for students in the Early Childhood Education program at San Juan College . as well as student teachers through New Mexico Highlands University.

The Child and Family Development Center at San Juan College has been granted a five-year accreditation status from the National Association for the Education of Young Children Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation.This is voluntary accreditation and is in addition to state licensure which is mandatory.
