People living near Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque say they're skeptical over the cleanup of millions of gallons of spilled jet fuel beneath the base and sitting on the acquifer. Air Force officials met with them this week about how they're going to clean it up.

The state has stake in this issue, too. The state environment department began pushing for a plan to clean it up a year ago to the day.

Where does it stand now? William Moats heads up the state environment department's hazardous waste unit says it's long process that could take even more time.
