Christian Brothers group in bankruptcy not the Santa Fe group (Listen again)
(2011-05-02)
(KSFR) -
The North American Chapter of the Christian Brothers has filed for bankruptcy protection for the large number of sex abuse claims that have been brought against it.

The name Christian Brothers is well known in Santa Fe. The brothers were among the early leaders in creating education for Santa Feans. They founded St. Michaels High School which later morphed into the College of Santa Fe. Another St. Michaels High School grew up in place of the first one, and it, too, had connections with the Christian Brothers.

What happens now? Will there be any changes? Is the Christian Brothers order Santa Feans know attached to the Christian Brothers filing for bankruptcy. Brother Timothy Coldwell heads up the provincial office of the De La Salle order of the Christian Brothers. He's in Lafayette, Lousiana, and said the two organizations are affiliated in name only. Listen.
