It came as a surprise this past summer when 14,000 Santa Feans enrolled in Lovelace Health Plans found they no longer could use the hospital or other facilities of ChristUS St. Vincent, the only major hospital in town. It's all patched up now, but ChristUS and Lovelace broke off talks on a new contract over a dispute about reimbursement rates.

ChristUS said Lovelace wasn't paying the hospital enough for its services. Lovelace said ChristUS was already overpriced. In August, we spoke with Arturo Delgado of ChristUS in late August and Frank Ulibarri of Lovelace.
