SF County manager resigns (Listen again)
(2010-06-21)
(KSFR) -
-- Roman Abeyta has resigned his position as Santa Fe County Manager. The Board of County Commissioners is considering its options and additional press releases will follow. The commission will have an emergency meeting tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. to discuss this development and appoint an interim county manager.

Meanwhile, the Santa Fe County's sheriff has been investigating the use of county work crews to do private paving jobs. Those revelations led to the firing, by Roman Abeyta, of the county public works director. The most infamous of the paving work was the parking lot paving job done for the Catholic Church in Nambe. That paving may have been done at the suggestion of both a county commissioners and the speaker of the House of Representatives. The county public works director has lost his job over the issue. Well, now, the sheriff has found evidence of even more private paving having been done. Sheriff Greg Solano joins us.
