State high court wants information on greenhouse gases (Podcast)
(2010-05-20)
(KSFR) -

A Santa Fe-based environmental group has gotten the go-ahead from the New Mexico Supreme Court to pursue its argument -- at least for now. The high court dismissed temporarily a petition to deny New Energy Economy an appeal of a lower court ruling that threw out New Energy's arguments. The environmental group had been sued by several businesses, including PNM, over its attempt to ask the state Environmental Improvement Board to set a limit on big-industry greenhouse gases in New Mexico. New Energy took the case to the high court, which is now requiring the opponents to submit their own argument in writing. Mariel Nanasi is New Energy's senior policy advisor and tells us more.
