(KSFR) -
-- Santa Fe County Manager Roman Abeyta is complaining about a lawsuit the city plans to file. The lawsuit will ask a judge to make a "declaratory judgement" whether the city's historic design ordinance should be obeyed in the future by county and school district officials when they go to remodel buildings or build new ones. The issue comes up after the city finally agreed to design changes at the new county courthouse downtown. County Manager Abeyta says he was "blind sided" by the lawsuit and that it could stop contruction of the county's courthouse. City Attorney Frank Katz tells KSFR the suit is about future buildings, not those already approved.
