Santa Fe County Court gives up on state emergency loan
(2012-07-10)
(KSFR) -
The delay in funding the furnishings for the new Santa Fe County Courthouse has now become much longer. KSFR News has learned that the First Judicial Court in Santa Fe has decided not to make a second request to the state Board of Finance for an emergency loan.

The court's administrator tells KSFR that the Board of Finance and the governor have made it clear there is no money available for any expenditure unless it's an emergency such as fire or flooding. The court has been looking for funds for the furnishings ever since the governor vetoed a legislative appropriation of $1.3 million in March.

The new courthouse is scheduled to be completed early in 2013, but moving the court to the new facility could be delayed.
