Cravens Runs For Lt. Governor
(2009-11-18)
(krwg) - A state senator from Albuquerque who is known for his stance against drunken driving has joined the race for the lieutenant governor's job.

Kent Cravens announced Wednesday he will seek the Republican nomination next year. At least 10 others seven Democrats and three Republicans have already announced they're running for their parties' nominations.

The three-term senator says the agenda from Santa Fe has been unhealthy for New Mexico's communities and individual prosperity and that government needs to be brought back to the people.

Cravens has been working in the Legislature for the past nine years to pass aggressive DWI reforms. His sister-in-law and her three daughters were killed by a drunk driver on Christmas Eve 1992.
