Celebrate the coming of Winter at Leasburg Dam State Park. There will be Native American dancers, traditional Winter coyote stories, arts and crafts, presentations, and video showing nearby petroglyphs interacting with light, shadow and time. Experience how traditional Pueblo adobe "horno" bread is baked and eat it too! Turn back the Sun through various interactive activities throughout the day.
Safely view the Sun through a solar telescope provided by the Astronomical Society of Las Cruces and join them at night to explore the celestial treasures of the winter sky at the park's new observatory.
Times are from 11 am to 10 pm and the event is free with appropriate park fees. Leasburg Dam State Park is located in Radium Springs, NM. From Las Cruces take I-25 north to exit 19 and follow the signs to the park.
