Learn about the history of Las Cruces with a focus on Dripping Springs, then take part in an optional hike to Dripping Springs. Chris Schurtz, author of “Historic Las Cruces: The History of Las Cruces and the Mesilla Valley” is a historian and journalist. In addition to this book, he has written for the Las Cruces Sun-News, My Las Cruces, and the Southern New Mexico Historical Review. This presentation will be followed by a book signing and an optional hike to Dripping Springs led by Kim Hanson of the Museum of Nature and Science. Limited seating is available on the museum’s van for round-trip transportation between the Convention Center to Dripping Springs. There is a $3 per vehicle charge at Dripping Springs for those who take their own vehicles.
