Dates and Times:
February 23, 7:45AM-12:00PM
Local conservation advocate David Soules will lead us to an unusual destination and a Back by Noon original--a bombing target used by airmen to train during WWII! We’ll get a ground level view of what remains of a giant bull’s eye as seen from the air. Time permitting, we'll also visit the ruins of the Butterfield Stage Line Rough and Ready Stop. RATING: Easy to Moderate, one-mile walk over mostly level ground. This outing is part of the Southwest Environmental Center's Spring 2013 Back by Noon series of guided, family friendly Saturday morning trips designed to showcase the unique natural and historical features of the Las Cruces/El Paso area. Advanced reservations are required and space is limited, so sign up early. Call (575) 522-5552 or visit wildmesquite.org for more information.
