Kent Library on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University will present its first Athenaeum event of the fall 2014 semester.

Dr. Musa Olaka, Assistant Director & Instructor Head of Kent Library, will present “Voices of children who survived the 1994 genocide in Rwanda: A Reflection.`”

The 1994 genocide in Rwanda has been rated as the most efficient genocide in terms of the number of victims it claimed within 100 days. However, there are children from Rwanda who lived through this and survived to narrate their personal experiences.

The event will take place from noon - 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27 in Sadie’s Place at Kent Library and is free and open to the public.
