SALT LAKE CITY
(krcl) -
From the greater conversation of industrial environmental impact has come another discourse directed toward investigating the environmental and cultural ethics of food production. Tonight Tamrika discusses food ethics on the micro and macro level, including issues of worker's rights, the importance of local food sourcing, and sustainable ways to reduce waste and environmental degradation from food production. In the first half of the show, Tamrika speaks with Leslie Hatfield editor of The Green Fork' the blog for Sustainable Table, an organization committed to introducing progressive modifications into the national food culture. During the second half, she speaks with Nance Klehm about her Spontaneous Vegetation projects, including workshops on urban foraging, greenhouses for the homeless, and systems for waste, power, and water recycling.
