Staff Writer for IN Magazine, Kelly Ashkettle, goes on a Halloween ghost hunt! Salt Lake City, UT When Michael Zimmer was 10 years old, his bedroom door opened and he heard footsteps come into the room, but he could see in the moonlight that there was no one there. He opened his mouth to scream, but he was so terrified that no sound came out.

Several years later, he was spending the night at the farm where his grandfather had died a few months before, when he heard someone come down the stairs, sit in the rocking chair, get up and walk past the window -- where he could see that there was no one there.

He then heard the footsteps go out the door. It's a pattern his grandfather had followed each morning when he got up to milk the cows. This time, Zimmer says, he wasn't scared, because he knew what it was.
