If Miranda and Xander Myers of Snohomish can do it, so can you. Along with their parents, Miranda and Xander have joined with Cascade Harvest Coalition and thousands of Washington residents and signed the pledge to ‘Eat Local for Thanksgiving,’ promising to add at least one locally produced item to their holiday meal.
As the holidays approach and it's time to decorate for the festivities, go out into your garden for inspiration. Look for dried seed pods, branches jeweled with berries, leftover flower heads and interesting evergreen leaves. Despite the dreary season, you can create architectural holiday arrangements for your home with twisting, unique branches, colorful berries and classic fragrances.
With all the talk about the federal government trying to encourage “green jobs,” a number of Seattle entrepreneurs have quietly created their own green jobs for themselves and a few other folks, by designing and marketing innovative eco-products. Today let’s take a look at two of these local businesses: Krebs Recycle and Alchemy Goods.
