Recession Could Benefit Education Reform Efforts

With state lawmakers busy making massive budget cuts, there are some who say the recession might have a silver lining when it comes to education reform. Recently, the nation's new Education secretary, Arne Duncan, singled out the work of one local researcher with the University of Washington's Center on Reinventing Public Education. KPLU's Gary Davis visited Dr. Marguerite Roza at her Seattle office. Roza says the recession provides a real opportunity to fix systems that no longer work.
