Rights of the Disabled - A Talk With Dick Thornburgh SEATTLE, WA (KPLU) - This week human rights will get world attention. The United Nations' Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities takes effect. Its aim is to affirm the basic dignity of the disabled, and provide a legal framework for their full integration into society. But the United States, so far, hasn't signed it. KPLU's Gary Davis recently sat down with former U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh, who fought for the 1990 Americans With Disabilities Act.
