SJR 8212 - Private Hiring Of Inmates

(KPLU) - Washington law says prison inmates should work for the benefit of the state. But should they be employed by for-profit companies in jobs that pay minimum wage and higher?
That's a question Washington voters face as they consider a constitutional amendment on the ballot.
Senate Joint Resolution 82-12 would re-authorize private employers to set up shop inside prison walls.
