Art Thiel on UW Athletic Dept. Budget Cuts SEATTLE, WA (KPLU) - "A dramatic and difficult move." That's how University of Washington athletic director Scott Woodward describes the budget cuts he's having to make in his department to fill a nearly three-million-dollar shortfall. Those cuts include slashing 13 jobs and eliminating the men's and women's swimming programs.
