Moving Company Shut Down in Seattle
A moving company in Seattle has been ordered to shut down. State regulators say AMX-A Moving Experience, Inc., is in violation of Washington consumer protection laws.
Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, which is in charge of enforcing consumer protection regulations, says AMX was operating illegally without a valid permit.
Under state law, a permit ensures a company is charging appropriate rates, carrying proper insurance, drug testing drivers and keeping vehicles safely maintainted.
The mover was also cited for advertising, which is illegal without a permit , on internet sites such as Craigslist. In addition, AMX A Moving Experience, Inc. was fined $30 thousand dollars.
